finally feeling

sometimes in our spiritual walks, the road isnt just hard

it seems to disappear

i know about disappearing trails, i have spent a good amount of time in Karamoja

"Eckoquai, Eckoquai!" accompanied by clicking sounds has warned me more times than i could possibly count of the thorns ahead waiting to snag my hair or shirt or ears or....

sometimes have woven through the thorn bushes, over the sliding rocky soil, up a steep slope of a dry Ugandan mountain only to find

nothing

or what looked to me like nothing

the Karamojong could always spot the trail when my American eyes could not

lately my walk with the Lord has felt this way

dry,
rocky,
even invisible

lately there has been a stirring,
a quickening,

feeling

deep on my soul

like there is something just over the horizon.

like child awaiting daddy's arrival home from work, i eagerly wait on the voice of God...

knowing HE is present,
near,

and finally, i don't just believe it because i KNOW it is true,

I can sense it...

"Just there, just there" my guide points with his chin in the direction of the trail.

to love a mac or to hate a mac

we have a mac

a PowerBook G4 to be exact

i love how it is small- extremely portable and light.
i love how it never gets a virus or "locks up"

but sometimes i want to throw it across the room!

i was raised on a pc
but apple 2E green screens were my first love

they taught me oregon trail
keyboarding
and 5 inch floppy handling

i love my mac-
but i miss my RIGHT CLICK!
i miss ALT+CTRL+DEL

and i really really miss a computer that doesnt try to THINK for you- doing what it THINKS you want it to do!

how do i just make my mac obey ME???

thank you sam-well!!

OK- so my friends, sam beer is the best photographer i know- when we went camping in november he took these pics of my girls- someday he HAS TO teach me how to shoot like this- or maybe just come to africa with me to take all the pictures

i have never noticed this before

reading in John this morning

1:35-42

two of john the baptist's disciples began to follow after Jesus-

they said

"Rabbi, where are you staying?"

and Jesus said

"Come, and you will see."

and they went and stayed the day with him at his house.

perhaps small
perhaps no big deal

BUT

to me
today

it reminds me of the importance of  hospitality.  and maybe it also makes me a bit jealous, they got to hang out at Jesus's house!

i pray that our home is one that welcomes people in the Spirit of the Lord, creating a safe home for family and visitors, and provides a place of exploration that all could leave proclaiming the same thing these two men did:

"We have found the Messiah!"

i love how the Spirit personalizes scripture for each Jesus follower- today. I needed a word.  Your turn to listen to His voice today.

SCHOOL!

what do you get when you put together a former school teacher with 3 babies?

school at home!

each week we have a theme.

This week was

The letter "C"
Shape: circles
Color: yellow
Counting to 3

We made yellow mini-circle cookies, painted with things that were circle shaped, counted everything, looked for yellow everywhere, and drew "C's with our hands.

Here are a few (ok, lots) of pics because i took lots and i think these girls are so cute... though i am a bit biased ;)

we had a date!!

two babies who came so early in our marriage, and the fact that we didn't really "date" much before getting married- well, we have had not so many dates over the life of our relationship-
BUT, Tye surprised me on Thursday with a call that went like this,
"Hey baby, can you be ready to go in like 30 minutes?"
me "Ummmm... well, it depends on who is going and where we have to be- there are three of us i have to get ready here."
"well, just you, and we are going out... i am picking up the baby sitter now, and we will be there in 30 minutes... i want some time with my wife."
me- jaw on floor- "wow- yep, i can be ready
"

thanks summer for the skirt- it fit perfectly!!

we went to texas roadhouse- YUMMY- and then got drinks at starbucks and talked.  we needed it so much.

my little "princess"

so, she never says "I"- but instead she says

"my"

so she says to me, "My a princess, mommy!"

note her princess shoes, courtesy of O'ma, leopard outfit, barbie guitar and accessories all from her aunts and uncle who help her achieve the princess look.
