finally feeling

sometimes in our spiritual walks, the road isnt just hard

it seems to disappear

i know about disappearing trails, i have spent a good amount of time in Karamoja

"Eckoquai, Eckoquai!" accompanied by clicking sounds has warned me more times than i could possibly count of the thorns ahead waiting to snag my hair or shirt or ears or....

sometimes have woven through the thorn bushes, over the sliding rocky soil, up a steep slope of a dry Ugandan mountain only to find

nothing

or what looked to me like nothing

the Karamojong could always spot the trail when my American eyes could not

lately my walk with the Lord has felt this way

dry,
rocky,
even invisible

lately there has been a stirring,
a quickening,

feeling

deep on my soul

like there is something just over the horizon.

like child awaiting daddy's arrival home from work, i eagerly wait on the voice of God...

knowing HE is present,
near,

and finally, i don't just believe it because i KNOW it is true,

I can sense it...

"Just there, just there" my guide points with his chin in the direction of the trail.
